Cooking Sous Vide
The hottest trend in culinary circles – sous vide is a classic cooking technique that was once popular and now again has risen to fame. Sous vide is the technique of cooking with precise control of temperature in a protected vacuum environment and while it sounds intimidating, it is in fact quite straightforward! Chefs all over the world are turning back to sous vide because it produces the most tender, succulent foods without overheating or overcooking, and preserving food’s nutritional value and true flavor. This class will teach all of you this cooking technique as well as a complete understanding of the equipment needed. Discover the secrets to sous vide and enjoy its bounty at home!

The Art of Seasoning
Understanding and learning the essence of spice and seasoning can take everyday cooking to extraordinary cuisine as the simplest addition of a spice blend or a sprinkle of sea salt boosts and brightens your food and increases flavor. This class will focus on the very art of seasoning – understand the world of spices, the best way to maintain their freshness as well as how to combine seasonings to create new and exciting blends and of course, how to enjoy them in cooking.

Lessons in Dairy
Do you often look at the labels in the dairy aisle and wonder what they mean? Do you enjoy a cheese plate at your favorite restaurant but wish you could put one together at home? This class will cover the basics of dairy, how to put together a cheese plate as well as teach you a few simple recipes to add to your cooking knowledge. We’ll start by making homemade butter and then transform it into a delicious butter spread that is both savory and sweet. Then, learn how to make fresh ricotta- delicious slathered on bruschetta with seasonal tomatoes. And lastly, we’ll show you how to take standard whipped cream and by a few different additions make a delicious topping in minutes.

Knife Skills and Knife Sharpening
A sharp edge, the correct grip, proper food placement – these are all techniques utilized with good knife skills. This class will begin with proper positioning – of you, the knife and your food! Then move on to serious slicing, dicing, and chopping as well as more advanced cuts such as chiffonade, julienne and more! Join us as we teach basic knife techniques to practice at home to keep your culinary skills sharp! We will offer complimentary sharpening at this class. Please bring your favorite knife and we will be happy to sharpen it for your. *Please note: limit one per customer.
